Dental Cleanings The regular cleaning of teeth helps to keep your teeth and the tissues surrounding them healthy and free from infection. We recommend professional cleaning for your family every 6-8 months. This will prevent the accumulation of bacteria containing plaque and calculus in areas you are unable to clean completely with brushing and flossing. Left on the teeth for extended periods of time lead to decay (cavities), gingivitis and periodontal disease. Ultimately, regular cleanings not only help to keep your mouths healthy but also helps protect your overall health.
Preventative Dentistry Many services are focused on prevention. Cleanings, sealants, flouride applications, mouthguards, fillings and even crowns and extractions can be part of preventing oral disease. The two most prevalent forms of oral disease are tooth decay (caries) and periodontal disease. Decay effects the teeth while periodontal disease effects the gums and bone surrounding the teeth. Both are caused by harmful bacteria contained in dental plaque that is left unchecked around the teeth. Preventative measures are largely focused on controlling these bacteria and strengthening the teeth and gums to make them more resistant. The most important preventative measures are regular cleanings and exams by your dentist and hygienist and proper oral hygiene performed by the patient at home. Regular and thorough removal of plaque is the single most important act for maintaining oral health.
Veneers Thin porcelain facings that are bonded to the front of teeth to help improve esthetics, lighten or give a more uniform shade, close spaces, straighten teeth, or repair chipped/worn teeth. In certain circumstances no preparation on the teeth is necessary and the veneers are bonded directly over top. More commonly though a slight reduction in thickness is necessary to properly contour and prepare the teeth so the most natural and esthetically pleasing result can be achieved. Impressions (molds) of the prepared teeth teeth are taken and sent to a laboratory for the fabrication on the veneers. Temporary are placed while the case is worked on in the lab. Once the permanent veneers are received they are tried in and adjusted if needed and finally bonded to the tooth. Click for more details: Veneers

Crowns (Caps) Most commonly used to restore teeth that have been broken, cracked or have large aged fillings. Additionally, the majority of teeth that have received root canal therapy are in need of crowns to prevent breakage. Click for more details: Crowns

The pulp of the tooth is accessed and the canals leading to the pulp are cleaned, disinfected and sealed. RCT treated teeth normally require a crown to protect the tooth from breakage and sealed canals from becoming infected. Root Canal Therapy
Implants Dental Implants have been used successfully for many years. The implant is a post that is surgically placed in the jaw. An artificial tooth or teeth (prothesis) is then attached to the post. The surgical phase of treatment is completed by an oral surgeon and the restorative phase is completed at our office. Click for more details: Implants
